My Great Grandad Never came home to patty, valery and tony and phyllis after Normandy
my uncle was torpedoed before his ship left the dock he lied about his agehe was fifteen
i was evacuated when i was a girl and my husband was bomed out of every house he lived in

i feel very sorry for the people of bootle at that time of th 20th century, their strenght made britain what it is today r.i.p

I grew up on Marsh Lane in the 70s and some of the bomb damage was still there then. Thankfully my family were lucky.
