my father was evacuated from vorkes crescent bootle to wales in the war he lost both his parents
I'm too young to have war time memories but my auntie who grew up in Cowper Street said when they were bombed one night, their piano ended up in her best friends bedroom along the street
St James' church bootle, chesnut grove off marsh lane is celebrating 125 years this year. on the 3rd june 2012 there will be a celebration for the work and sharing of memories of the bootle marsh lane area. keep the memories alive

I was born during the war but I do remember the street party at the end!
my great grandma lived in Bootle and was evacuated.I feel really sorry for her.

My grandad said that when he was younger that he was evacuated to the countryside. he said he could see and hear the planes go over the house
my grandad said he got bombed and saw his mother, my great grandma, die infrontof him ;p
