So race fans, the shark won the Goldfish medal in that race, and is also the winner in real life. The shark hunts other fish, using its streamlined shape and strong muscles to achieve amazing speeds through the water. If it were slower than the fish it eats like the mackerel the shark would go hungry (although it does eat dead animals as well).

The shark is not the fastest fish in the sea though. The sailfish has been timed at a cool 68 mph (109km/h).

The mackerel is also a rapid fish. It cruises the seas in large shoals, chasing prey with short bursts of speed.

The monkfish doesn't need to move very fast - its food comes to it, chasing after that yummy-looking thing dangling right in front of the angler's mouth. Ouch!

The sea horse is a much cooler customer, eating tiny shrimp that come drifting past. Smooth!
