Animal menusThese children's menus, a dinner menu in the shape of a lion and a zebra-shaped tea menu, were used on the last voyage of the ship Aureol. She sailed from Liverpool to Lagos, Nigeria between 12 and 14 May 1973. The Aureol was the flagship of the passenger fleet owned by shipping line, Elder Dempster. She was the largest passenger ship built for the line. Her first voyage was also on the Liverpool-Lagos route, in 1951. She was sold in 1974, renamed the Marianna VI and finally scrapped in 2001. Both menus are part of the Maritime Archives collection at Merseyside Maritime Museum. You can see copies of these on display in our Lifelines Gallery on the first floor.
