Official Beatles fan club newsletter, summer 1964

Magazine front cover with signed photo of The Beatles

In 1964 the official Beatles fan club was run from headquarters based in Monmouth Street, London by Anne Collingham (18), Bettina Rose (19), Yvonne Sainsbury (16), Tony Catchpole (15) and Mike Crowther-Smith (19).

When interviewed by Fantastic Magazine there were just two rooms - one filled with seventeen sacks of Beatlemania letters waiting to be answered, including many marriage proposals!

The many thousands of fans ranged in age from just two to eighty-five and The Beatles themselves even visited from time to time to sign the stacks of photographs, and to look at their fan mail letters.

The text on the front cover of the newsletter reads:

"The Official Beatles FAN CLUB
