"As an introduction to the Booklet, J. Collinson & Co. venture to hope that the announcement reproduced below from the 'Liverpool Mercury' of ninety-three years ago may be of interest to their customers.
The Liverpool Mercury and Lancashire General Advertiser
Friday, September 16, 1831William Collinson, Ladies and Gentlemen's Boot and Shoe Maker, No. 20, Bold-street, opposite Slater-street, Liverpool, takes this opportunity of informing his numerous Friends and the Public, that he has removed his Establishment, No. 12, Lord-street, to the above more spacious Premises, where he continues to execute orders in the first style of fashion.
W.C. cannot conclude this address without again returning his most grateful acknowledgements to his Friends and the Public at large, for the very extensive and generous patronage he has been honoured with since he commenced business, and he flatters himself, that from the arrangements he has been enabled to make to procure materials of extra quality, and an assiduous attention to those who may favour him with their commands, he may look forward to a continuance of their kindness and support.
J. Collinson & Co., 34 and 36 Bold Street, Liverpool"
