Bernard Herne Linger was an avid life long Liverpool Football Club supporter. His season tickets from 1948 -1951 for the 'C' stand show his regular seat - row G seat 15. Current football fans may be surprised to see that the price for each season ticket was just £4.
The Football League (Division 1) home and away fixtures for that season were provided in the back pages of the ticket.
Bernard H Linger and his season tickets for Liverpool Football Club for 1948-9 and 1950-1
Bernard himself was an early business entrepreneur in Liverpool, manufacturing and retailing furniture, making it affordable to the general public by offering easy payment facilities. His was one of the first shops in the country to introduce this method of payment into his tailoring business, Peter Westons for bespoke tailoring and 'ready to wear'.
Bernard sadly died prematurely in 1950 at the age of 53. These items were donated to the museum's collections by his son, Mr Robin Linger.
