Daniel Alexander Williamson - 'Coniston Old Man from Warton Crag'
Technique
The rich purple and yellows used to paint heather and broom have the same acid sharpness as many of Hunt's pictures. In both paintings, there is a tendency for the paint to be more thickly applied than that of other London or Liverpool Pre-Raphaelites.
