A tea towel decorated with the shipping Flag code for wet.
The use of flags to send messages at sea has a long history. By 1855 it had evolved into the International Code of Signals, an elegant system of flag signs created for the use of all nations that is still occasionally employed today.
Designer Nick Munro has teamed up with the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) to create a range of homeware items based on the shipping flag code and Shipping Forecast's unique language.
Nick Munro will donate a minimum of £15,000 from the sale of these products will be paid in support of the RNLI.
