Tunic top of black silk and silk satin. Hand-embroidered in tambour stitch with a Chinese-inspired design in pale blue silk and gold metallic thread.

Probably made in China for export to Europe.

In the exhibition this item is displayed with a pleated black wool skirt, not shown here, made by Jay's Ltd, London in about 1920. The skirt is not from the Tinne collection.
