The Walker Art Gallery's collection of 17th century art is rich in Dutch landscapes and portraits.

It also features works from several Old Masters, including Rembrandt (1606-1669), Rubens,1577-1640) Poussin (1594-1665) and Murillo (1617-1682).

Many of the works came from aristocratic collections built by people such as Charles I, the Duke of Devonshire and the Earl of Derby.
