- (1) Defrance was in Paris at the outbreak of the French Revolution in July and returned to Liège after revolution broke out there in August 1789.
- (2) The executors were a Nottingham-based firm of solicitors, Hunt, Dickens and Willat, who were subsequently taken over.
- (3) Rock Park Hotel, built in the 1880s, was one of the grandest hotels in Llandrindod Wells until its demolition in the 1990s.
