  2. Maxwell died in Australia having bought some of his collection in Paris
  3. Bought by Redfern from the collection of 'the late Bruce Maxwell, who died in Australia some years ago' (letter of 1959 in Walker files)
  4. Anton Walbrook of 69 Frognal NW3 - the film actor ? He claimed in 1959 to have bought the painting from the Redfern Gallery 'some 20 years ago'.
