Date: Between 1887 and 1889
Artist(s): Edward Onslow Ford (British: English, born:27 July 1852, died:23 December 1901)
Information: Peace is represented by a young girl with a dove and the palm branch of victory, standing on the armour of war. All the symbols are individually conventional enough. However giving them to a very naturalistic modelled nude young woman in an unusual and vivacious pose is an example of the new approach to allegory for which the 'New Sculpture' was famous.
