Francis Egerton

1st Earl of Ellesmere (1800 - 1857), British politician, writer and patron of the arts

Egerton was the 1st Earl of Ellesmere, formerly known as Lord Francis Leveson-Gower. He was a British politician, writer, traveller and patron of the arts. He was the younger son of politician and art patron, George Granville Leveson-Gower, second marquess of Stafford (1758–1833).
