Earthenware jug

About 1832

This jug is transfer-printed with 'The Old Rotten Tree'. The print shows the authors of the 1832 Reform Bill attacking the 'rotten boroughs' of the old, corrupt electoral system. The Reform Bill created the basis of modern British democracy.
