Cotton, probably made in England, 1880-1890
Underglaze painted porcelain, made at Seth Pennington's factory on Shaw's Brow, now William Brown Street, Liverpool, about 1780-90.
The painted floral decoration of this vase, and its setting within a central cartouche, or ornamental frame, are both elements of the Rococo style.
Purchased with the assistance of the Victoria and Albert Museum Purchase Fund, 1974.
