Join us for a series of artist talks, exhibition tours and discussion events as we explore the history of the John Moores Painting Prize and its role in contemporary art.

We will have different artists and experts on each Tuesday, see below for details for each Talk Tuesday event:

  • 23 September: Find out more about the exhibition, the selection process and what goes on behind the scenes with the John Moores Project Team.

  • 30 September: Exhibiting artist Lexi Strauss talks about her painting 'Tupperware Party' (from The Twelve Apostles as Babies series).

  • 7 October: Exhibiting artist Frank Pudney talks about his painting 'People 69104'.

  • 14 October: Art historian Julie Robson leads an informal discussion about a selection of works from this year’s exhibition.

  • 21 October: Find out more about the exhibition, the selection process and what goes on behind the scenes with the John Moores Project Team.

  • 28 October: Exhibiting artist Robert Fawcett talks about his painting 'Frank as Androcles'.

  • 4 November: Exhibiting artist Susie Hamilton talks about her painting 'Freezer'.
  • 25 November: Art historian Julie Robson leads an informal discussion about a selection of works from this year’s exhibition.
