Fertility symbols, ancient and contemporary, are explored in beautiful new art work by winner of the Liverpool Art Prize 2013, Tabitha Moses.
Three white hospital gowns with delicate hand embroidery give an intimate insight into the artist’s own experience of fertility treatment and that of two other women, following Tabitha and her husband’s diagnosis with ‘unexplained infertility’ in 2010.
The work is a continuation of themes explored in her winning Liverpool Art Prize exhibition.
Tabitha Moses was the first artist to win both the 'people's choice' and the main prize of the Liverpool Art Prize in 2013. The award is an annual competition and exhibition for contemporary artists based or born in Liverpool city region. It is managed by Metal a multi-disciplinary arts organisation based at the historic Edge Hill train station
