Join Manchester-based weaver Elizabeth Murray-Jones to learn the basics of weaving and create a small woven sample of your own to take away. Find inspiration for your woven creation at the Walker as we learn about artist Lubaina Himid and explore colour, symbolism and shape in the Lubaina Himid: Meticulous Observations and Naming the Money exhibition. Children will also be able to obtain Arts Award Discover as part of this workshop as they take part in hands-on activities, find out about artists and their artwork, and share their discoveries.

This workshop is suitable for children age 7-12 accompanied by an adult. Due to the artistic processes and materials used in this session we are not able to accommodate children under 7 years of age.

Booking

This is a free event, but places are limited and pre-booking is essential. Please book a place for each child and adult attending. Tickets are available on our Eventbrite page.

This event is part of the Lubaina Himid exhibition and our Lubaina Himid events and Arts Council Collection event series.
