Join artist Pete Clarke for an insightful talk to discuss his painting 'doubt and distance… of lost content'.

Pete Clarke moved to Liverpool in 1978. He was the MA Course Leader and Principal Lecturer in Fine Art at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston, until the summer of 2014 when he began working in the Bluecoat Studios.

His work explores concepts of the city, modernity and history utilising painting, printmaking, drawing and poetic text. A recent series of ten paintings, including 'doubt and distance… of lost content', investigate notions of city change, development and progress.

This painting in particular was initially influenced by seeing an old photograph of the Theatre Royal in Liverpool’s Williamson Square before the area was redeveloped.
