Phil Sayers is a transvestite artist who performs feminine masquerade in photographic images often referencing art historical sources.
Featuring works at the Walker, the talk will focus on the artist's work with historic collections to uncover ‘hidden’ aspects such as gender performance and the way that women are represented.
It will reference David Hockney’s work and collections including the Walker's.
