Age of Jazz Figures, Clarice Cliff for A.J. Wilkinson
1930, Earthenware and hand-painted, Lent by Muir Hewitt
Clarice Cliff's toy-like and playful group was possibly made to be displayed around a wireless, when listening to dance-band music. These figures are now considered to be very evocative of the 1930s, but they were not popular at the time and did not sell well. They are now very rare.
