'Eric I: Rincewind Running'

Colourful fantasy scene showing a running wizard with a red cloak

Painted 1988 for the 1990 Gollancz edition.

Running at the first sight of danger is the inept wizard Rincewind’s pre-eminent talent: “I run, therefore I am.” His ‘signature’ cloak, a familiar colour accent in many Discworld paintings, acts as a shapely compositional device in this illustration which appeared on the title page of Eric.
