Out of this World: the art of Josh Kirby

Schanes & Schanes (USA), 1980.
After he was voted best artist at the 1979 Science Fiction World Convention in Brighton, American publishers Schanes & Schanes approached Kirby proposing a limited edition portfolio of prints of six paintings.
This crystallised ideas in Kirby’s mind, he completed more paintings, and the Voyage of the Ayeguy portfolio appeared in 1980. He reluctantly wrote narrative captions. The cover carried a version of 'Go Civilise the Savage Planets' (the Ayeguy mission) with Kirby’s own title font.
