'Rossetti's bedroom at Cheyne Walk' by Henry Treffry Dunn

Circular sketch of a four poster bed with a fireplace and fire beside it

Watercolour on paper, painted about 1882, Diameter 33cm, Wightwick Manor (The National Trust, by kind gift of Mrs H Guglielmini)

The bedroom was on the first floor at the back of the house. The room was dominated by a huge four-poster bed with embroidered crewel-work curtains and a massive oak mantelpiece, its shelves filled with brass and china.

Dunn painted the room as reflected in a convex mirror that hung there.
