Dante Gabriel Rossetti
This exhibition was held at the Walker Art Gallery in 2003/4.

Coloured chalks on paper, dated 1878, 100.8 x 66.7, National Museums Liverpool (Lady Lever Art Gallery, Port Sunlight)
Rossetti redesigned the composition of 'Pandora' (immediately above) in the late 1870s.
The winged creatures, swirling in the smoke that rises from the casket, are more stylized in the later drawing, anticipating the decorative rhythms of art nouveau.
