Coat of cream-coloured wool, herringbone weave, fully lined with white cotton sateen. Fastens down left side with three mother-of-pearl and gilt metal buttons, one now missing.

Full sleeves with softly-pleated headings and deep turn-back cuffs. Neckline and cuffs decorated with applied black cotton velvet, broad woven band of cream silk braid and narrower black and white silk braid.
