Perhaps surprisingly, Emily Tinne was not interested in buying dressy shoes. She had lots of plain good quality shoes for daywear but no glamorous evening shoes to match her wonderful evening dresses.
Emily bought some of her shoes from Collinson's in Bold Street, thought to be Liverpool's smartest shoe shop. She bought other cheaper shoes from Watt's & Co in Church Street and from Lewis's in Ranelagh Street.
The Pamphlet on the right is an advertisement for shoes from another shop frequented by Emily, George Henry Lee & Co. The text on the pamphlet reads:
'FOOTWEAR STYLES, GEORGE HENRY LEE & Co. BASNETT ST LIVERPOOL. PHONE: ROYAL 4181 (15 LINES)'
