Jack Duplock was born in 1975. He studied at Yeovil College of Art 1993-94, Southampton Institute of Higher Education 1994-97 and the Royal Academy School of Art 1997-2000. In 1999 he was awarded the David Murray travelling scholarship to Spain. He exhibited in New Contemporaries 2001 and in 2002 his one-person exhibition 'Dormant Double Bill' was shown at Keith Talent Gallery London.

"Somewhere between sci-fi and horror, Jack Duplock's paintings describe spaces filled with uninhabited huts and places of refuge, with remnants of otherworldly fluids and growth. Influenced by B-movies, he depicts the aftermath of some unknown invasion. Through doorways, corners of rooms languishing with gore melt into whirlpools submerging into the exterior. Flecks of marks move into focus to describe a swarm of flies engulfing a rotting organic material. Amputated body parts lie strewn around a woodcutter's forest. The ground filled with spiked plug-holes washing away the deluge…"
