Helen Turner was born in Bromley in 1964. She studied at Canterbury College of Art 1982-86 and Cyprus College of Art 1989-90. She lives and works in East Sussex. Her group exhibitions include Smiths Gallery London 1992, Brighton Museum and Art Gallery 1994, Maidstone Museum and Art Gallery 1996 and Star Gallery Lewes 2002.

"My work is about the discovery of an imaginary world as well as a response to seen and felt experiences, including popular and historical culture.

The interaction of a variety of materials together with the physical activity of painting itself is an important part of my work."
