My current paintings are the conclusion of a process arrived at through a variety of means. They do not have specific subjects; they are made up from fragmented source materials, from a wide range of imagery. The blurred corner of a room in an amateur snapshot, the background or furniture from a pornographic image, the dark shadow behind a curtain featured in an interior design magazine. Details like these can all become ingredients to use in combination with an intuitive painting process to make a new environment, a main event constructed from peripheral matter.
