When I was a kid I remember finding a UFO lying on the ground in my neighbour's
driveway. Well, when I got real close it turned out to be just some piece of
automotive trash. But for a moment I supposed...and I still get that feeling
sometimes, reeling under the sweep of the Milky Way. It is a tidal thing, a brief, slight
creation that exists only in an uneasy balance of opposing energies. A painting's
surface might be thought of in the same way, a site balanced between entropy and
some impossible static vitality.
