The John Moores Painting Prize, launched in 1957, continues to be the UK's most prestigious painting prize. The £25,000
first prize and four other awards of £2,500 are certainly helpful to any artist, but more important still is the boost to reputation that winning the John Moores brings. The competition continues to be
recognised amongst painters as the one to watch.

The JM2010 exhibition will be on show 18 September 2010 - 3 January 2011 at the Walker Art Gallery.
