'Untitled (pub#2)', Kiera Bennett
Paper collage, 11 x 14.5 cm
These painterly, intricate miniatures are made from thousands of fragments of paper. Every surface is clad; heavy with glue.
These gummy, claustrophobic, shadowy worlds choke with fullness.
These are romantic places which prompt thoughts of melancholy, solitude and paranoia. We pass by them on our quest for clarity. They are environments that evoke the sublime and draw us towards the unknowable. There is a promise of fresh air.
