We created Something Wild...at the Walker Art Gallery with the help of children from St Columbas and St Pascal Bylon out of school clubs, who produced artwork to be included in the design.
Illustrator Kate Pankhurst worked with children and staff to deliver a series of art workshops that took place during the October 2008 half term.
The sessions were inspired by the Walker Art Gallery's collections and the children's responses to the works of art on display. Kate created the illustrations for the main characters and the children illustrated the wonderful world around them - all of the sculptures, paintings, objects and picture frames featured in the book.
We would like to thank the children and staff of St. Columbas and St. Pascal Baylon out of school clubs for their support and contribution to the wonderful illustrations in the book.
