About this object

A small male head from a votive statuette. The head is slightly turned to the left and he is wearing a conical hat that covers the ears. His eyes are almond shaped. Most of the facial features have eroded.

    Curator's note: Similar heads with conical hats are in the Louvre' s museums collections, speciifically see AM 3058 from the catalogue of the Louvre museum Cypriot collections, 1989, p.226. The heads from the Louvre originated from the sanctuary of Golgoi and have been dated towards the end of the 5th century- beginning of the 4th century.
