About this object

Ivory disc with engraved decoration on one side of central circular medalion with lots of vertical and parallel engraved lines, The edge of the lid has a thin band of a garland formed of interlocked shapes of 8. The disc was probably the lid of a circular box. In several pieces it is mended, fixed to a perspex mount.
