About this object

A wheelmade bowl with a ring base, a lean and tall body, a flat circular rim and two side angular handles by the rim. The bowl has decoration of the White Painted II type, with a creamy and white painted slip on the exterior of it s body and thick brown painted circular bands along the base, the middle of the body and rim. In the interior the clay is reddish and there is one circular band along the interior upper body and a spiral at the centre of its base. There are two long cracks on the body that have been repaired and a small part of the rim is missing.

    Curator's note from archival correspondence: Maier proposed the Late Cypriot IIIA date for most of the wheel made Base Ring ware, correcting Tsielepi's date of Late Cypriot IIC.
