    Curator's note: in the typed report from the archives, Excavations at Kouklia, 1951, p.6, the fragment of the mane was described as having been found at the SW end of the fosse in excavation plan F5-F6 ( KA 1245 ) while the lion's head (KA 490 ) had been found at the higher end of the mound in 1950. The report also mentions that fragments of other lions were also found.
