More than 2,700 items from our internationally significant Egyptology collection. The full collection is one of the largest in the UK with over 16,000 items spanning from the Prehistoric (c.5300 BC) to the end of the Byzantine Period (642 AD).

Description: The museum created a travelling exhibition consisiting of 8 artefacts and display material for a showcase illustrating the topic of writing in ancient Egypt. The group was arranged in a showcase and was loaned to Joseph Williams Primary School, Gateacre, Merseyside, between 27 January - 27 February 1970.
