Carved limestone model of a jar. Painted with crisscross black lines to represent a net. From Tomb Q chamber 20 - the tomb of King Qa'a, found inside a box along with a 'large stock' of model vases (18 were illustrated in the excavation report).

    Description: Excavations directed by Flinders Petrie at Abydos for the Egypt Exploration Fund. The museum provided financial sponsorship towards the costs and received a share of the finds that the Egyptian authorities allowed to be exported outside of Egypt. The museum subscribed to the 1899-1900 excavations and received 179 finds that were accessioned on 24 September 1900, accession series 24.9.00.56-126 (mainly Early Dynastic finds from the Royal Tombs...) The museum subscribed to the 1900-1901 excavations and received 114 finds that were accessioned on 14 October 1901, accession series 14.10.01.1-53 (mainly Early Dynastic finds from the Royal Tombs but also Middle Kingdom finds from tombs D79 and D81).
