About this object

One of nine wooden cobra heads with sun discs (uraei) from a frieze. Well carved with yellow paint, blue, red and green markings. The sun discs are painted yellow.

Formerly in the collection of William Frankland Hood (sold at Sotheby, Wilkinson and Hodge, London, lot 151).
