About this object

Limestone ostracon with hieratic inscription in black ink on recto (seven lines) and on verso (eleven lines). Little visible on recto and nothing legible on verso. There is a transcription on the record card made by Percy Newberry and Eric Peet . In 1873 Samuel Birch, of the British Museum, examined it and described it as "having 7 lines on each side but too faint and injured to make out the purpose or meaning" (MS 7 November 1873).
