About this object

Mummiform shabti wearing a plain tripartite wig with a seshed headband tied at the back added in black, although this is very faint. The arms are crossed on the chest, and the hands hold a pair of hoes added in black. A large rectangular basket is painted on the back with horizontal line detail. Facial details are poorly defined. The shabti is flat–backed. A vertical column of inscription names the owner as Amenet–em–heb. Assuming the old label attached to the back is correct in stating the name of the owner, it would appear that shabtis of two sizes exist for Amen–em–heb. The inscription is very indistinct, and without the suggestion on the label, reading the name written on the shabti would be virtually impossible.

Record card states that the figure is worn, and only traces of paint remain.

The Gilstrap collection was formed by Miss Gilstrap, who contributed funds to the British School of Archaeology in Egypt between 1900 and 1910. She was given a share of the excavated finds in return for the funding she provided.
