Wedjat (eye of Horus) amulet of openwork turquoise glazed faience with incised detail. White inlay and black detail for pupil and eyebrow. One piece of white inlay missing. Very fine work.
Given to Flaxman Spurrell by Flinders Petrie who worked for 2 seasons in the Faiyum between 1888 and 1890. 1 of 14 Wedjat eye amulets (56.20.341-56.20.354) glued on a sheet of card by Flaxman Spurrell and bequested to Norwich Castle Museum.
