About this object

Steatite scarab seal crudely decorated on one side with details of the wings, head and legs. The other side is inscribed with hieroglyphs including one representing a sphinx. It is pierced through the length for suspension. Probably a forgery. Old label says it is decorated with an image of a sphinx and is from Lord Amherst's collection.
