About this object

Scarab shaped seal: back of the 'flying beetle' type. Design of the base includes a lion trampling on a uraeus with a neb basket hieroglyph over his back. Pierced. Brown glazed faience. Professor Newberry thought it to be covered with bitumen and dated it to the Ramesside period.
