About this object

Steatite scarab shaped seal. The base is engraved with the prenomen of Tuthmose III, image of Maat goddess, offering (Htp) sign and face (Hr) sign. Pierced through the length for suspension. Fair technique. Fair preservation but some flaking of the surface in one place and glaze gone. White label on the stop with number 1902 (ex Henry Salt collection).
