About this object

Steatite scarab seal with fine details of the head, wings and legs on the back, and flat base inscribed with a scarab beetle outstretching its wings wearing two Maat feathers, flanked by two uraei. Pierced through the length for suspension. Glaze now worn away. Chipped around the sides and on the base.

Record card says "Ex. Lord Grenfell Coll. Given Miss F. Lawrence I.O.M.", and dates the object to ca. 1600 BC.
